We maintain a complete tax reference library and our firm regularly attends local, western provincial and national tax conferences. In addition, our tax knowledge is supplemented by our close association with the premier tax law firms in Edmonton and through our receipt of Video Tax News.
A major resource at our disposal is qualified and competent personnel. We emphasize continuity of staff on all engagements in order to increase efficiency and therefore minimize costs to our clients.

ROBERT L. COYLE, CPA, CA
Partner
Rob has provided audit, accounting and income tax services to a wide range of clients over the past 30 years. Through his involvement with our owner-managed business clients he has obtained significant tax and valuation experience. In addition, he has been involved in a number of corporate reorganizations including estate freezes and asset protection.
Rob obtained his Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Alberta in 1986. He articled at Price Waterhouse Coopers and received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1991.
SHANNON CLARKSON, CPA
Partner
Shannon received her Bachelor of Commerce in accounting in 2015 from Athabasca University.
She articled with Coyle & Company since graduating, and received her CPA designation in February of 2019.
LIANA COYLE, CPA, CA
Accountant
Liana articled with Coopers and Lybrand, obtaining her Chartered Accountant designation in 1991. Liana has over 30 years of experience in all aspects of accounting, tax and business planning for a wide range of privately held companies.
Liana has served on a variety of non-profit boards ranging from school executive boards to sports organizations.
DERIAN PERDAEMS, CPA
Accountant
Derian graduated with her Bachelor of Administration degree in 2018 from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. She articled with Friesen Viney Stasiuk after her undergrad. She obtained her CPA designation in February of 2022.
DEVIN JOYCE
Accountant
Devin graduated with his Bachelor of Administration degree from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. His knowledge gained during several years’ experience in public accounting has him on track to earn his CPA designation in 2023. He is the newest addition to the accounting team.
VIRGINIA BACKSTROM
Accounting Technician
Virginia has a Certificate in Business Administration from The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT). She has over 33 years experience in the Accounting industry, applying her skill sets to both the administrative and accounting technician fields.
KUNAL SHARMA
Accounting Technician
Kunal Graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from India. He brings to the firm over ten years of experience in multiple aspects of accounting, assurance, and taxation for a wide range of small & medium enterprises of multiple nations.
NICOLE (NIKKI)
Administration
Nicole has a certificate in Office Administration from Olds College and also attended The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) where she has completed various accounting courses. She has extensive years of administrative and accounting related experience. In addition to this, she has served on many volunteer non-profit executives.
PAULA
Administration
Paula has a certificate in the Administrative Assistant/Executive Secretary program from the Westerra Institute of Technology. She brings with her over 20 years of administrative experience.
MARY
Bookkeeper
Mary, born and educated in England, brings to the firm over 20 years of bookkeeping experience with additional background in banking, real estate and property management.
BRENDA
Administration
Brenda is our amazing receptionist and the first person you'll see when you walk into our office. She owned and operated her own business for 20 years, and has almost 10 years of bookkeeping experience.
SAMANTHA (SAM)
Administration
Sam graduated with a Bachelor of English Literature from Athabasca University, and has several years of administrative experience across various fields.
